Sometimes breaks can be seen as a way to distract ourselves or be unproductive. But studies have shown that just stepping away from what you’re doing for at least 10 minutes a day can lead to you being more creative and productive. Now let’s take it one step further, this fact becomes even more beneficial when you decide to use that allotted time to stimulate your body and brain. When I say stimulate your body and brain, I mean do something that brings you joy and that doesn’t mean scrolling through social media or reading the news.
In this episode, we talk about how play has the potential to rejuvenate us. If you think about anything that you did that was playful, you were completely engaged, immersed in it, and time went by like that. If you’re not conscious about your energy levels, it can get away from you. Then you get what I call the dose (dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins). That’s what we need as entrepreneurs to keep going forward, but yet we think it’s a weakness to take a break.
